GMG drinks beer too

"One cannot survive on wine alone..." ~ Tanisha

So yeah, there are times when I crave an ice cold refreshing beverage and only a beer will do. Then there are times when there happens to be a holiday and a beer event at a beer garden. So, I drink beer!

As part of the festivities for Paris' beer week, the was a Belgian beer garden a little outside of La Defense. The directions to the 'garden' seemed easy enough in theory. 8 minute walk from La Defense and then we'd have Belgian beer! Well, finding my friends was the first problem. La Defense is a huge complex with trains, a mall, restaurants, office buildings and a wide open outdoor space. After 20 mins of texts, we were all together. Now time for beer!! Wait, how do we get out of here and to the streets....

That 8 minute walk turned into 28. I cannot stand to be lost and to wander around when I actually have a destination in mind. So I just had to be quiet while we got Google Maps and friends to help. What was the problem you ask?? There aren't really street signs in the suburbs. Sigh...We finally made it and could now drink beer!!! Like, for real this time.

I went straight for the Grosse Bertha as it had the largest percentage of alcohol. Whatever don't judge me, I wasn't driving and I had been through a lot! I also tried 1 and 4 off the draft list, then got a bottle of beer. Figure since it took us so long to get there, might as well stay awhile. So we did. And we had a great time! Laughing, joking, drinking beer on one of the few nice days that Paris blessed us with. When she is so stingy with the sun is anyone's guess. But anywho, Belgian beer is my go-to when that craving hits. Nothing like an ice cold Belgian....beer :-)
