Day Tour of Epernay
In addition to my many projects and just loving Paris, I host day trips to the Champagne region. So Saturday, Girl Meets Glass took a group of 5 to Epernay to sip the stars at 2 champagne houses. Then we ended with a nice dinner before catching the train back to Paris.
1st stop - Paul-Etienne Saint Germain
I've been to this house before and am a huge fan. It's a small house run by Jean-Michel and Agnes Lagneau, who actually pour the wine themselves and tell you everything you need to know about their operation. The wines are all crafted from Grand Cru grapes.
2nd stop - A Bergere
This was actually an unplanned stop, but they had AC and it was 95+ outside so, there's that. A crisp glass of rosé was had. Not as much interaction here. This was more of a tasting room. But again, they had AC so I will complain about nothing.
3rd stop - Moet & Chandon
My group wanted to visit a large house and have that experience, so Moet was it. They gave a full tour of the facility complete with a walk to their underground chalk cellar. I almost got lost on the tour in an effort to stay in the cool underground. After a video and the cellar tour, we tasted a glass of their champagne and walked around the gift shop.
We ended the day with pizza for dinner, took a few pics and I led the group on back to Paris. Very happy customers indeed!
