Blacks in Spirits - Black History Month
You didn't think I'd let the whole month get by without saying something about African Americans in the wine & spirit industry, did ya? I hope not. I've posted things like this before but, it bears repeating. So, here are a few that I'm following right now
Chrishon Lampley - Love Cork Screw
She has an AMAZING story of tragedy, triumph and hustle. She crafts several wines for her brand, hosts wine tastings, has a podcast and hosts Tequila Tales. Know her!
Andre Mack - Mouton Noir wines
Starting out as a sommelier, but thinking he could craft his own killer wines out of Oregon, Andre Mack has done just that! With cool names like Horseshoes and Handgrenades and OPP, his wines are stellar examples of what wine should be and what we can do.
McBride Sisters - TruVee wines
Another incredible story, or made for Lifetime movie, two sisters never knew the other existed until their dying father told one of them to find the other. The sisters lived on different continents, yet each had an affinity for wine. They find each other, and bada bing bada boom, create a new wine company with no experience making wine, in an area of California not known for its wine. Truvee Wines was born!
