Boulingrain blanc - a wine for a wife
French wine labels are so simple, and to the point. Basic lettering and colors, but you have all the information you need.
This particular bottle is special in that it was crafted solely for Fromages et Vins du Boulingrin in Reims, France. Owned by husband and wife duo Armelle et Philippe Cahours. This is the last stop of my Champagne tour through Reims.
I met Philippe during Champagne Week in Reims in April. He supplied the cheese at one of the events and i immediately thought him and his shop would be a great addition to my tour. I was correct it was.
This particular white wine was created for his wife, Armelle, a Marsanne, Rousanne blend from Coteaux du Languedoc. And it's bio. Elegant on the nose with hints of white flowers. The wine is well balanced with intense stone fruit flavors, notes of fennel, honey. Then he brought out the cheese. I bought a few bottles and so did my tour guests.
