Lunchin’ with Vall Llach

I was so privileged to attend this lunch and meet Albert, Winemaker, General Manager and Tupperware Man (LOL, Inside Joke!) Albert presented the wine from the magnificent century-old vineyard estate of Cellar Vall Llach. These vines produce low yields and climb steep sllate hillsides, receiving maximum sun exposure and water deprivation that benefits the overall health of the grapes. The carinena and garnacha vines are 60 to 100-yr old vines and blended with newer plantings cabernet sauvignon, merlot and syrah for added complexity.

The Wines:

Embruix - Deeply aromatic with flavors of earth, minerals, ripe red and black fruit, and a wide array of toasty notes which include freshly roasted coffee.

Idus - Aromas of ripe berries, dried fruit, and forest herbs. Balanced tannins complement flavors of licorice, spice, minerals and chocolate covered cherries.

Vall Llach - Deep cherry color with aromas of dark fruit, dried herbs and spice with delicate tannins.

** I had shrimp and grits for lunch, but ate the dessert before I thought to take a pic**

Vall Llach wines are imported by Folio Wines.
