I am a fan of trying something new. The same old cranberry and vodka is just not going to work all the time. Don’t get me wrong, I do love the classics, but why not add a little a little something extra to them sometimes. Sooooo, I’ve done a bit of infusing and the results this time have been amazing!! I’ve infused before and featured the results here and here with great results. This time is no different! I did a Raspberry & Mint Vodka infusion at home. In New Orleans for Tales of the Cocktail, Tito’s vodka had a DIY Infusion event so I had another infusion to work with. I was a bit nervous about this one though. I was under pressure since there was a line and it was hot outside. But I tasted my infusions this weekend and they are perfect!! Here are a couple of recipes to make cocktails with the infused spirits.
Raspberry Mint Vodka Collins
1 1/2 oz raspberry mint-infused vodka
3/4 oz lime juice
3/4 oz simple syrup
Add all ingredients to cocktail shaker with ice. Shake! Pour in rocks glass over ice, top with tonic.
Tito Pito (riff on a Stoli Doli)
Take the pineapple, lemongrass, basil, vanilla-infused vodka, pour it into shaker over ice. SHAKE! Serve in a chilled martini glass.
This infusion came out a bit creamy, if you need some tartness, add in a touch of lime juice. Another cocktail can be made by using the infused vodka and mixing it with orange juice and lime. I didn’t have a full jar of this infusion so I liked mixing it with the juice to stretch it out just a bit.
