Wine Blogging Wednesday - 80: Dry Rose

So, I hopped in my time machine to write this post. Or you’re probably just reading this late…

But anyway, so excited that I actually had a wine readily available that fit in with the theme of this WBW.

My rose is a 2012 Chateau Marie du Fou - Fiefs Vendeens from the Loire Valley. Pale salmon in color, this rose comes from 20 year old vines and fermented 5 months in stainless steel. This blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Gamay has aromas of red berry fruit and rose petals. Strawberry, cherry and notes of minerality are found on the palate. Creamy and almost full-bodied, this is the perfect wine for these end-of-summer nights with the windows open and the cool breeze blowing.

Most don’t want summer to end, but these long cool nights and this rose….Hey Fall!!
